Karl Lagerfeld Launches New Denim Collection

Designer Karl Lagerfeld has announced he is launching a new collection for men and women dubbed K Karl Lagerfeld. The collection will include fitted T-shirts and a wide range of jeans, and it's been said that black, white and shades of gray will play a key role.

Karl Lagerfeld's personal passion in denim led to new namesake collection called K KARL LAGERFELD. Targeted towards both men and women, K KARL LAGERFELD is created with Maurice Ohayon. Other pieces besides jeans and tees include sweaters, pants, knitted dresses, cashmere knitwear, blazers, trench coats and down-filled jackets. There are also some accessories - scarves, hats, gloves and skinny ties.

Skinny silhouettes and Karl Lagerfeld's own inimitable personal style are central to this fresh, forward-looking collection. Cuts and fitting techniques have been pushed forward, and denim comes in a choice of three colors - black, grey or blue - while finishes include unwashed, waxed, clean-up and other special coatings play a key role, thus appealing to a customer who is stylish and design conscious.

The collection, will be a women's and men's lifestyle collection with a full range of clothing, including a large offering of 5 pocket jeans in denim and other fabrics, will be launched for autumn/winter 2007-8 at Bread & Butter in Barcelona between January 17-19.

A slim silhouette is a recurring theme in K KARL LAGERFELD surfacing in fitted dresses and sculpted tailored jackets and coats. There's also a capsule collection of accessories including scarves knit hats and gloves, as well as skinny ties for men. Karl Lagerfeld iconography appears on selected tops and ranges from head shots of the designer to his written signature.
