Jeans DesignersThis season Armani Exchange takes you to Metropolis XX, a modern city sharply divided between style and scandal, an urban arena of social wanderers where the manner of dress is strong, confident and seductive.

With 2011 marking the brand’s 20th anniversary, the new A/X collection is an evolution of the brand’s heritage of city-sleek sophistication. The A/X fall 2011 collection offers a highly wearable limited-edition capsule collection grounded in a retro-luxe style meant to appeal to international youth.

For women, that means feminine flight suits, palazzo silhouettes, ultra-graphic motifs, and flowing dresses.

The A/X guy is transit-tough — a welldressed renegade with rugged leather jackets, smoky printed shirts, and wool active pants. Urban travel influences the men’s collection with reversible blazers, knit pants, oil-coated jackets, and durable denim. Evening looks include striped tweeds, melange plaids, cowl-neck pullovers, urban fairisle, suede trim blazers, and piece aviator trousers.

The silhouette for the season is about precision. Fabrics include leather, suede, moleskin, faux fur metallic finishes, oil-coated cotton, and denim. One symbolic color runs through the whole collection — gray — a reference to the urban mood and landscape of the big city, jolted by rich flashes of bordeaux, gold, teal, red and indigo navy.

Particular attention has been paid to the range of luxurious accessories: for her, the signature cross-body bag, city-glam quilted utility bags, evening envelope clutches, and the bag of the season, the structured leather utility bag in dark cherry. For him, there’s the transit nylon duffel, rugged oil-cotton weekender, and sophisticated luxe-leather tote.
